That is what they wrote on his old barn. Therefor he became Bachelor, but in DK it is called Pebersvend because he is 30 and never married. And he gets alot og Pepper pots. In the older days it was a shame (especially for girls)still not to be married when she became 30 years old. Somehow I feel, that "bachelor" isnt the right word here? Took this shot during the trip into the country. OK I havent got much time. Have a busy day with guests.

The "I didn't dare to woo her" is a sad statement. But if written by others, perhaps the truth is he didn't care to dare. The barn is beautiful in its decay. Great story and beautiful capture! Have a fun day and great week!

In my great grandparents days if a man was under 30 he was considered to young for marriage (Not established in life yet) and a woman if she wasn't married by 19 was an "Old Maid". LOL! Have things changed! ;) Excellent capture! I think that barn is much older then him. ;)

This is an old and venerable building...and I rather like the idea of inanimate things recognized as bachelors or spinsters. I love little glimpses into other places too and this is a perfect glimpse. I love the textures of the old wood, almost like wrinkles on a human face. This is excellent!
