the no trucks sign makes sense on this very old one lane bridge, but 20 tons is okay?other than a truck, only Sherman tank or a very huge caterpillar would weigh that much.for sure I would not cross in any thing weighing more than a heavy pickup.maybe they were thinking about the heavy Cadillac of the president that hit bottom leaving the embassy in Ireland it crosses a railroad and on a small road to local farms near Durant , Oklahoma

We have a lot of bridges like this but 20 tons would take most vehicles eh! when it doesn't look strong enough for that. Excellent capture and well spotted.

love those one lane brdges. i was almost on the bridge when i saw this woman driveing her car fast and was not at the bridge yet but something told me to stop I happy I did for she did not slow down at all but cross the bridge and almost hit me.

You see that all the time in the sticks of PA, too. One sign could be from the county, another from the state, with no one bothering to read the other sign as they were planted. The main job requirement of bureaucracy: throw common sense out the window. But, hey, as one of by superiors said, who at the time was in his 70s and still neck-deep in Soviet mentality: Without bureaucracy, we would never get anything done.
