Description

Spring cascades at the lower end of the enchanting Sgwd Isaf Clun Gwyn falls in the Brecon Beacons national park, Wales. The view shown in yesterday's upload is the top section, which you can just make out the tip of way up in the background. Pretty lengthy falls in all as there were yet more cascades behind me too! Ahh nature :)

So lovely! You must have had reasonably even lighting also because the waterfalls look great and aren't blown out at all. Dappled sunlight looks so great to the eye and translates so badly to film or digital.

thanks Jo! yes it was a bright overcast day, perfect for waterfalls really! it's quite possible to obtain even lighting with no blowouts when it's sunny though, through things like using your camera's 'highlight tone priority' (or equivalent)of exposure blending and proper use of luminosity masks, a wonderful example of which can be found here :) - 30 Seconds of Magic by Andreas Resch

What a splendid water system these falls are. Mother Nature gets it so right here. A very beautiful capture and a great place.

Very nice work ! In such cases, ideally, a graduated neutral density filter!

thank you all for the lovely comments.... Mario, no grads necessary, Lightroom and/or photoshop and exposure blending is better as you preserve more shadow detail ;)
