Description

This Cardinal, which is my state bird, was intensely guarding the nest. Kept moving around so much, I had to move back about 50 ft. and wait till he settled down. Zoomed in when I caught him giving me the evil eye. Really starting to get into this new Camera. Thank you to Mrs. Klubner for the advice about doing everything in manual mode...helps a lot after some practice.

Cardinals never stay still, but you've managed a great photo of this gentleman. For as flashy as they are, they have such diminutive, polite little chirps, and they're my state bird as well. (So either they've been adopted by more than one state, or you live in Illinois.) I have yet to capture one of these; timing is everything and whenever one of these guys sits still, I never have my camera nearby. Odd how that works. Anyway, this is a gorgeous shot.
