Hey this came out GREAT!! I had forgotten you were shooting black and white film, and not digital. I made several color shots of this tree, but I like your version much better. That was a great day! Glad to see you're posting again!

I got a shot of the same treee, only in color and with more stuff growing around it; and I have to say I like this version better; it works perfectly in black and white. I love the crop also, it highlights the overall shape of your subject and the black and white heightens the emotional zing since there are no colors all going "Look at me, I'm bright and pretty." This works so well and I'm glad to see it.

Great shot Kate! Very appropriate title. The subject is as heart rending as the figure of the mother holding her dead child in "Guarnica". Like the B&W. Very moving.
