I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

full-size, this is a beautiful image Carin. It's "my kind of image," a zeroing-in on a small segment of architecture which---due to the eye of the photographer (you!)---reveals many worlds within. (When I did architectural drawing---it's how I started in visual art, actually---we were constantly told to notice how many worlds are contained in the tiniest architectural area. So this type of image holds a very special place in my heart.) A simple arcade, which you've shown traveling back into a mysterious black backdrop, and moving through a luscious array of vines, flowers, objects, tiles, etc. Some beautiful accents along the way. And the greenery on the left is quiet & lush, while the barrel in front picks up all the yellow and orange-yellow of the walls of the building. Beautiful seeing, Carin, and typical of how you illuminate the beauties & mysteries of intimate spaces. A favorite from the minute it went up...
