Description

Yesterday morning I wanted to remove some weed from my garden and grabbed the hoe? Just above my hand on the shank, I suddently saw two fingers that looked like they grew right out of the shank. (I am so glad I didnt grab these little wonders) And of course I ran into the house and grabbed my Camera. Dont they look like they havent got a head? I think they have bended the head and hided it. Well, after taking many shots, I placed them on the Troll Willow, as we call a willow we have with curly branches. Unfortunately I couldnt find them on the internet, so I cant tell you, what kind og moths they are. WOOHOO! Mario found the right name :) Cossus cossus (Linnaeus, 1758) a goat moth :))) Thank you Mario, you are a PAL ! Have a pleasant day. Here we still have wonderful summer weather. Sunny and warm and only little wind. Again my thoughts go to the poor people who were hit by the tornados. I hope the tornados will stop now. Thank you so much for viewing, comments and favs to my previous post. It is Highly appreciated :)

Good heavens! Those are just the oddest looking things, aren't they? It looks like they've got faces on the backs of their heads and too many mouths. LOL! (Sometimes I'm as bad as Andrea, seeing things!) Fascinating critters!

I've seen something like them in the past, but can't find it in any of the insect books I have. Can't help you with the name. Well seen and excellently captured! :)

What marvelous creatures. It looks like they're wearing hoods to keep their heads dry, or protected from the sun. Insects are such amazing creatures and I love the idea that someone could see one and then immediately run for their camera. How perfect! The light is wonderful in these shots and I love the size comparisons. With moths like that, I could easily live in Denmark...hmmm...I'll have to woo Victor with that idea.
