BIO Hi, I am Gun Legler from Sweden. I live together with my cat Simon in a little village near Gothenburg On the outside I am old, but young inside :-) For so long I can remember, I have enjoyed expressing myself through any kind of art or craft. Until I was 40 I worked as a child psychologist and pre-school teacher, but after that I said goodbye to my profession and began studying at an art school. There I stayed for four years, mainly learning Graphic art (etching, dry needle and linoleum cut). I was a lousy oil painter, that medium did not fit me at all, watercolor I liked better. For many years I made collages of different kind, watercolor and textile. I grew up with a mother that sewed and a father that built violins, so I early fell in love with textures of many kinds. I have now abandoned making textile collages, but I realize that I work much in the same way with my computer art. I take a piece here and a piece there and try to make a whole of it. And I am madly in love with textures of all kinds, I can sit for hours just playing with different colors, textures and filters, making backgrounds just for fun (and for upcoming images). I work very much by intuition when I make an image, experimenting wildly with layers, textures, color and light. But the form is equally important, thats what Graphic school taught me. I have seldom a clear inner image when I start creating, it is more a feeling I want to express. The process can be quite unconscious to me for a long time. The image gradually takes form, and become clearer to me. What I want with my images is to reach the feelings of the viewers, to make them look into their own inner being and respond in any way, regardless of which feeling is evoked.

I am Gun's daughter Lena (zitalena@gmail.com). I am so, so sorry to tell you all that mom passed Tuesday morning, Feb 8 2022, Swedish time. No panic, no pain, no regrets. So peaceful. I tried to get a message about this on my moms latest picture, but now I can't find it. But now I have her computer and can log in. Please email me if you want. Thanks to all. Mom really loved the community!! Her gallery will live on. I have changed the address to mine, because me and my brother really would LOVE to keep her gallery open. Love to all.

Hej Gun!

Excellent shot.

Great shot. I would say that's the work of Ermine moths.

I've always known them as Tent Worms here in Mid Michigan. Very destructive creatures! Great shot.

i don't know the name for this ...but in germany has the trees the same today ...

Wonderful shot of this blight. It appears to be Tent worms as they are appearing, according to Wiki, in the spring. while not totally destructive, they do tend to leave the tree in a weakened state. They are found in Europe and America if this was taken in the fall and these were on the end of the branches, then they would be web-worms but since they are found in North America. (again according to Wiki) I think we can say that this is the Tent Worm

YUK! I have see it happen here years back and it looks so creepy. Though it was on only one tree at the time.

Thanks guys! It looks really creepy, and I hope it will not spread, but a great area around the tree is woven with the greyish net, The tree is dead, but I don't know if it was so before, or has been killed by the tent worms.

Looks like the result of Tent caterpillars or depending on the tree species etc, could be Ermine moths!

cool poc
lonely_wolf
As far as I know is it is a caterpillar. The tree may well drive out again next year.

We call them Tent worms as well here in Windsor!!

I have no idea, sorry! Splendid capture! :)

What a capture. This looks like the work of Tent Caterpillars. I've seen similar infestations in the Midwestern USA...bad news for trees, but strangely beautiful in an alien sort of way. This is an excellent capture.

Crikey this looks very spooky, like the tree and its surrounds have been invaded by aliens. I'm glad someone knew what has happened as I haven't seen anything like it before.
cvrad
interesting looking cobwebs.

I saw this around here and I will check into it to see what it is. It's not daughter because that's orange and it it's a fungus. It looks like a cactus of sorts...eerie looking.
