Description
I dedicate this image to Bill (Radar_rad-dude) who came back after a difficult time. The title has little to do with him, however. Possibly because I've recently watched again the Lord of the Rings film trilogy (extended), or because it's objectively easy to see multiple realities in an urban environment, I decided to choose this title for these sportsmen riding and jogging a sunny Sunday away. I saw them from a bridge across the Mur river in Graz. Possibly the graffiti writer who chose the subject was suggesting something like that, with his interpretation of an eerie, disturbing river painted on a wall along the bank of the real river, with a lower and higher level.
Thank you for your kind comments.

This is marvelous! Wonderful composition, and capture of the two central characters. The position of the jogger, tree, and mural are perfect. Excellent perspective of the different levels. I like the blast of color from the mural in the more subdued color of the surrounding buildings. I like this a lot!

The imaginary Underworld meets the Reality-world - what a stark contrast and interesting juxtapose! BB

Great POV. Stunning captures. Very intriguing to see this urban-scene, dear Sandra.

Sandra! Thank you for this really amazing dedication! I can't find the words to thank you enough. It is quite a coincidence that the subject of the graffiti is a river, for the Missouri river was really raising many problems for the residence back in Bismarck, ND. Many million dollar homes built on the banks of the river have been flooded and much more flooding is expected because the Garrison dam up river is overflowing and will need to be lowered as fast as possible. Bismarckers will have high water levels till August according to predictions! Thank you again, Sandra! I love this photo and your most warm hearted kindness in remembering me! Many kudos to you as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A wonderfully colourful photo. It's a shame that there are no places such as this in Canada. The graffiti is vibrant and inspired in spite of its dark theme and perfectly juxaposed with the classic urban street front above.

Your city pictures are beautiful. I myself have an eye on my city and many a 2nd look. Especially graffiti I find fascinating. Here you have found a work of art and I hope that it will not gecrosst so quickly. Street art is quickly ephemeral.

I assume most people would highlight the amazing graffiti, but here it's a layer in the sedimentary strata of a city. Just another urban 'event', and what an event it is. From the overview, it's like the fiery jaws of hell beneath the main street above. And the runner down below is yet another addition to the piece. Your pov makes a snippet of a neighborhood look like a huge urban layer cake. You know, with an expensive camera---the ones that pro photographers use, like at the Nat Geographic---you'd get detail in shots like this that would not only knock people's socks off, visually, but which could be blown up to wall size and stun people across a long high-rise lobby. Not suggesting you sell everything for a lens that costs more than most Ferrari's, but take it as a compliment that I say this...Nevertheless, the detail here is endless, and the slope of everything towards the back of the image, and the trees on the left, all cap it off visually---I mean in purely design terms, as well as natural ones (the trees add the touch of nature that the piece needs; just right that you included them). A terrific vision of a small segment of a city; and the purplish-chocolate tone is perfect for the very intense world underneath, whose energies seem to spread throughout the whole picture. Terrific work. I hope Bill is well, and all is well with those he loves. Sorry to hear he went through some hard times.
