Description

While we were on our trip the folks here on Renderosity were never far from our thoughts. (That's true in general, but even moreso when one is on a 45-day photography trip!) I put this under "Objects" because there wasn't a category for "Homage to OCD." :P The first shot is of the front of our car. We towed it behind the motorhome, and this is the hitch assembly that stayed on the car. Rather than put pins in that part to hold it all together, we used padlocks. That way we were sure we would never return to find part of our hitch missing! The second shot is ... well ... it's obvious what that is. I'm sorry about the blur, but I was shooting hand-held in low light conditions and was sort of in a hurry, since I REALLY didn't want some stranger coming in and finding me taking pictures there! LOL! Oregon is a wonderful place for visitors. There are public restrooms everywhere you might find tourists, which is true hospitality. At the beach, in the middle of tourist towns, at lighthouses ... and they ALL lock up the toilet paper! The third and fourth shots show something Andrea has already shown ... removable barriers to a park. These happened to be at the Meares Head Lighthouse outside of Tillamook. If you haven't seen Andrea's lock series, you're missing out. She's durleybeachbum.

I'm sorry...but the only locks that turn me on come with a bagel and cream cheese. I could try to do a series on Lox but I'd probably eat it before I was through photographing it. Sigh!

I'm with Jo. I got a real laugh out of the locked up toilet paper. What will they think of next? A very thoughtful gift for Andrea.

I guess I've lived in Oregon too long. The lock on the toilet paper didn't even strike me as odd until I got to thinking about it, and reading the comments. And I agree about OR having lots of public bathrooms. I didn't realize how nice OR is for that until we traveled in other states and my bladder nearly exploded from lack of public bathrooms. I quickly learned to stop drinking while riding in the car...drinking water and soda that is. Loved your collage.

Smiling! What 'tumbling' onto your collage had this effect on me. Glad to see that it is not only SA where the loo roll is an escape artist... Clive

I don't blame them - nothing worse than being caught without any paper!! Great set of pics Tara and I'm sure Andrea will enjoy.

How amazingly bizarre! I have NEVER seen locked-up bogrolls before! Whatever next! Thankyou so much, Tara! You have got me wondering now if they ARE locked up in touring camper sites here. I have never visited such a place, always been a tent camper and taken my own. I love the shiny set on the front of the car..looks rather complicated. I've been thinking about a KEYHOLE set next...that should get me arrested quite quickly. With care for the elderly getting more expensive and less caring daily, the best option is certainly prison.

Toilet paper! HA! In some countries they dont lock off the toilet paper... the sit outside and give you how much you need in present time. How about that. Is that humiliating or what? Sorry Tara, This isnt about toilet paper, but locks LOL !Lovely locks for Andrea :-D

Excellent tribute to Andrea's OCD...that one on your car hookup looks quite complicated! And I've seen locked up TP but never even thought it was a bit odd until now. Wonder what else I'll notice now that I'm alerted? Hmmmm, they may have to start a whole new genre here just for locks.
