Is only an illusion. Whether you choose to believe it or not, as Americans our freedoms are slowly and methodically being taken from us. When our founding fathers drafted the Constitution of the United States of America they guaranteed the citizens certain unalienable rights. In today's world these rights are slowly and purposefully being stripped from us. In today's America you can not gather, own a weapon or in some cases speak your mind without a permit. Now I have read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and nowhere in them do I find where I must have a permit for any of these. Now don't get me wrong, I am a Patriot, I love my country with all my heart. I would gladly lay my life down for her if asked to protect her. What I have a problem with is the Government that runs my country, I blame all political parties for the mess we are in right now. Our Government was founded on the principle of a Government of the people, by the people, and in today's America that is no longer what we have. Our country is being run by special interest groups and by corrupt officials who have placed themselves above the laws that they are passing. When, are we as Americans, going to pull our heads out of the sand and take a stand? I for one am tired of going to the voting booth and being forced to vote for the lesser of two evils. I am sickened as I watch the rich get richer and the middle class working stiffs become poorer and poorer. Many of you will dismiss me as a nutjob, but if you sit back and think about what I am saying you will know that I am right. Read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and you will see what we have already lost without even realizing it. Are we going to sit back and do nothing as the rest of our freedoms are stripped from us? At what point will we stand up and in one voice say "Enough is enough"?
