Description

Another bit of esoteric flora, captured 5/8/11, at the Fullerton Arboretum, situated on the beautiful campus of California State University Fullerton in beautiful Fullerton, California. Worth a ZOOM. Note how the popsicle shaped buds burst and peel off like a banana. I used to use a shaving brush with soap in a mug, but now use shaving cream and gel from aerosol cans. Tallyho, thankx for dropping by, and for any and all favs and laudatory comments.

Really cool capture Harry, and I had never seen this type tree before and really found how the buds peel back fascinating.

I love arboretums. I wish there was one near me. Beautiful images! Wonderful colors and details. I've never seen this kind of tree before. It has interesting and colorful bark. Pictures number 3 and 4 are my favorites. Three has beautiful composition. I like the way the closed bud is right next to the one that has opened and you can picture it opening too. I like the way the curled back leaves are wrapped around the lower bud. On number 4, I love the tightly curled leaves. Beautiful clarity on all the images. Lovely group!

Wowzie! I've never seen or heard of this particular type of tree, what a cool thing, in all its parts! And I took some classes at Cal State Fullerton way back in about 1972 or so... Excellent illustrative collage, Harry!
