Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

They were keeping an eye on the water so they could either jump, run, or let the water rush over their feet, depending upon their level of bravery. I know that pose well! An excellent capture of that moment of anticipation. Wonderful image!

Love it. Wish I could do that right now! At the moment I'm sitting here typing with gloves.

Probably waiting for the waves so they can run away. Such a charming innocent image.

Stellar lighting, textures and quasi silhouetting effect in this shot! The young lady seems awestruck by the whole scene, Marilyn, debating whether or not to dip her toes into the swirling water. But, as Hillary Rodham Clinton would say, "it's for the children."

Ooh, how the heck did I miss this!? It's quite an amazing shot and it is a bit mysterious in that juicy way that you can spend hours playing with in your mind. What are those kids looking at? I love the looming columns too. For some reason they make me think of giant mushroom stems. That shimmery blue is spectacular! This is one of those shots a person can just live inside of for a while!
