Description

The ISS gets a big visitor. Safely locked in the robotic jaws of the Orbital Shuttle Atlantis after its successful launch and capture in Earth orbit the ML-2 Test Article has now been conveyed to and locked onto place on one of the many external docking ports which are now form part of the enlarged American section of the International Space Station. Once safely in place pressure suited astronauts will enter the ML-2 to make an internal inspection of the hulls inner surface and collect readings from the series of monitoring devices which have been located within the Test Articles hull to monitor its flight. Analysis of readings from the instruments and eye-ball reports from the astronauts confirm that both the outer and inner hulls have successful made the transition from Earths surface to orbital docking intact. An analysis of the all the ground based telemetry from the flight also confirms that the PAM system used to launch the ML-2 into orbit should act as a workable solution to the POGO problem. After taking a week to review all the data from the flight Robert Carter makes the decision that the fight should be deemed a success and exactly two months later at the beginning of June 2035 a second ML Test Article, the ML-3 is also successfully launched and takes its place alongside the ML-2 in Earth orbit. Tests on this second Test Article match the readings from the first successful Test Article flight. With the Test Article flights now completed there remains only one final step to complete before the next phase of Robert Carters overall plan for taking America back into space can commence. As a final act, now that their joint work is completed, both Test Articles are undocked from their respective docking ports, conveyed via the Orbital Shuttles Discovery and Endeavour to the very edge of the atmosphere, released and allowed to make the fiery decent into the Pacific Ocean many miles below. Here ends the next section. To be continued.
