Description
For the second year in a row, a couple of Black Redstarts nested in our garden in April-May !
It was a real challenge to capture a good picture of these shy birds…
But finally (with my 500 mm lens) I could make some nice shots…
(this picture was taken on May 28, 2011)
The Black Redstart Phoenicurus ochruros is a small passerine bird in the redstart genus Phoenicurus. Like its relatives, it was formerly classed as a member of the Thrush family (Turdidae), but is now known to be an Old World flycatcher (Muscicapidae).
