Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

I love the mustache on the bow, and can't quite read the name of the second tug. I've always wondered whether this use of car tyres was ever envisaged by the original car designers! They work perfectly don't they. Great shot.

This is fantastic...even before I read a description of this shot I laughed out loud at the idea of a tugboat with blue dreadlocks! They look marvelous! I like the angle you got on this shot too. When I look at this, I can get a real sense of the size of those tugs, well, at least the one in front, and there are wonderful details all over this shot. I especially like the colors. This is really great.

Very nice photo!

Nice shot of a newer style of tug, likely equipped with azimuth drives or even Voith-Schneider, but extremely able to move where wanted with full power in any direction.

Lovely shot of these very powerful boats. Could this shot be a contender for the 'Blue' competition?? I used to watch the old steam tugs at work in Devonport Docks on the river Tamar when I was a kid, always fascinated.
