Description

Modeled and rendered with Lightwave 9.6. Wish I could figure out an easy way to deform the net as a 3D object with volume other than manually drawing an already deformed net. I gave up and rendered an earlier frame before the ball hits the net. Any tips anyone wants to offer? I also found it easier to model the knots in the net separately from the rest of the netting instead of one continuous corded net with tied knots. Anyone have any experience drawing realistic knots?

Looks good. Actually there are a tutorial on doing just this on the Newtek training site. http://www.newtek.com/lightwave/24hours_training.php Look for the "Modeling and animating a basketball net" tutorial.
