If that is indeed bindweed, I hope it is not on your property. It is one of the most noxious weeds I know of. The reason it is called bindweed is because it twines itself around any plant it can and literally binds parts of it together. It gets under the siding, into flower pots, anywhere it can gain a foothold. If you fell asleep in your garden for two days, it would twine itself around you as well. It looks like a morning glory, but you can't get rid of it, you can't kill it...it has roots that go down 10 feet or more and it is perennial. You will frequently see it growing in abandoned empty lots or near commercial areas. Once you have it, it is very difficult to control, much less eradicate.
