Description

"...or Dee'dee, her casual name. Lover and friend to a close friend and associate of the Blue Angel crew, Fleet Intelligence did a covert background check on this elf to insure her reliability, since she was privy to sensitive information from several sources. Far from being a risk, Deeranterondee Silkheaven was a very good fit for the Blue Angel group. Unknown to any but her closest friends, she was not only a high elf, which was easily apparent, but noble-born, as well. Her parents made the conscious decision to remove themselves and their infant daughter from the royal court and intrigues found there so their daughter could grow up as a normal child, rather than one of the spoiled rich children of courtesans. As a consequence, Dee'dee grew up, got a good education through both public schools during her primary years and private schools for her advanced degree, and did her duty for the crown working as an embassy secretary on the planet Halta, which is where she met the Blue Angel crew and their friend initially, when she was sent to officially attend the 180th Memorial Day Celebration at Rajah Plain. After her tour was completed on Halta, Dee'dee returned to the home planet, and was courted by her long-time friend and lover Lan'tas Ravendrink. In time, they were married, and seemed quite happy together, according to friends. The marriage lasted twelve years when an aircar accident killed Ravendrink. There was an investigation of the accident, and it was ruled a catastrophic system failure of the aircar's main computer. The aircar's manufacture was found culpable, and ordered to pay Dee'dee ten million credits, which was but a small percentage of what Ravendrink would probably have made had he lived. At that point, given the eleven social stigma of being a young, childbearing-age widow, Dee'dee made the decision to simply leave the home world, and requested permission to immigrate to Tropicana III, a multi-race colony being sponsored quietly by the crew of Blue Angel. Since she had spent time on both Halta and Shelba, and fluently spoke High and Low Elf, Haltan, English and Shelban, her application was immediately approved. She also applied for and was tentatively accepted for employment at the Storm-O'Malley Memorial Hospital where she would be the office manager, and her extraordinary lingual abilities would be quite helpful. Dee'dee was quite happy in her new life, and able to purchase a small but very pretty oceanfront house. Neighbors said she spent many an evening just walking the beautiful Tropicana III beach. Finally, she met up with Patrick O'Malley's associate and friend, known to everyone simply as Cap'n Gary at a formal party. Unusually, Cap'n Gary showed an interest in Dee'dee. He had never shown much interest in any kind of close companionship, which made this all that much more curious. Before long, the two seemed to be inseparable, and could be found nearly every evening, walking the beach near one of their homes, or sitting quietly taking in the sunsets. Fleet Intelligence is satisfied that Deeranterondee Silkheaven is not only no kind of security risk, but a stabilizing factor, and good fit for the Blue Angel organization. This conclusion is supported by Vice Admiral Kelpie Storm-O'Malley's private comments to me.
