Argynnis (Fabriciana) niobe
Dimensioni: apertura alare 45-55 mm Descrizione: farfalla arancione con disegni neri. Il rovescio dell’ala anteriore presenta nervature di color nero intenso che la distinguono da Argynnis adippe con nervature più chiare. Sul rovescio dell’ala posteriore, nella forma tipica, si osservano macchie argentate mentre, nella forma eris, più ampiamente diffusa, sono giallognole. Distribuzione e habitat: presente in tutta Italia e Sicilia fino a 2500 metri di quota, nelle praterie fiorite soprattutto di montagna. Periodo di attività: adulti presenti in giugno-luglio.

Dimensions: wingspan 45-55 mm Description: orange butterfly designs blacks. The other side of the front wing has an intense black ribs which distinguish it from Argynnis adippe ribs clearer. On the flip side of the rear wing, in typical form, while silver staining can be observed, in the form eris, more widely, are yellow. Distribution and habitats found throughout Italy and Sicily up to 2500 meters of altitude, especially in the flowery meadows in the mountains. Period of activity: present in adults from June to July.
