The Desert Earth motion comic series began January 2010 with the pilot episode, New World Order. The success of the pilot lead to writing a further 7 episodes to complete the storyline, adding new characters and environments, with each episode showcasing a very different art style. Although further episodes haven't met the same success as the original, due to gaps between release dates, the series has continued. Shortly the series will conclude with episode 8, due for a mid September release. By years end, all 8 episodes will be collected and recut into a fanbased DVD project. This will include fully animated intro credits (possibly showing the creating of the domed cities), an extended finale scene, and end credits with shots of the cast on greenscreen prior to postwork.
