Welcome to my homepage!
I am new to this whole homepage / website thing. I love photography but am a novice with that too! My brother and friend post on here regularly and I was curious so got on and really like what I see so I figured I would give it a try.
I really enjoy nature photography especially macrophotography. I usually use a 35 mm camera using slide or print film but have switched into the digital because it's great for the environment and it its much more flexible. The most beautiful things in life to me are the most simple and often overlooked.
I have always been the black sheep (non-artist) in a family of very talented artists. I would love to connect with other folks who are interested in nature photography.Â
Peace, KateÂ

Beautiful Kate. I love shooting pelicans when I get the chance too.

Are you sure he's not looking down his nose Kate???? Lovely shot.

What a beauty.. If I could suggest trying to take your photos in early morning light or late afternoon, to avoid the glare and harsher light, it will bring out so much more details and colors of this handsome bird.

Such a lovely shot! There is something so comical about them, even at rest.

It is indeed a strange bird but interestring too. Excellent capture of it, Kate. Looking forward to see the next one. :)

I always think pelicans are SO interesting! We don't have them here, so they're kind of exotic to me. Great shot!

OOOOh, I like these little (well, not that little) people! Have you noticed that their beaks make them look like pterodactyls with feathers? That's just one of the zillions of reasons why I like them. I really like the colors on this one: he (she?) seems to have more reddish brown than I'm accustomed to seeing--not that I'm accustomed to actually seeing pelicans in Chicago! And the feather pattern (along the neatly tucked wings) actually reminds me of reptile scales...they have that overlapping pattern. This is one of those shots I could stare at for hours and feel free to post as many pelican shots as you want. This one is amazing and I'd love to see more.

Ah, yes, the afternoon at the Jetty! That was fun. Really amazing capture of one of these fascinating creatures. Great!
