Description

In remembrance of the 70th anniversary of Operation Barbarossa, the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union, I post this picture. This picture depicts the bitter end of the Nazi Empire as a Soviet frontovik (rifleman) stands next to a T-34/85 tank, looking at a destroyed Panzer Mk.III, whilst IL-2 Shturmoviks fly overhead and Berlin burns in the background. Regards, Learstang

Can't imagine where you got the IL-2 model or the frontovik costume, but this is a very powerful image of the closing act in the darkest adventure humans have ever acted out. Well done!

Nice. You might want to add a cloud layer or two, the blue of the sky is just too stark.

True, gwhite2, but that's kind of the effect I wanted. This picture should be stark. It was softened enough by the haze effect (for smoke) and I didn't want to soften it even more with clouds. A stylistic choice you might say. Regards, Learstang
