Description

"For an age the vast floating citadel of Amarri-Tath remained a curiosity, a building imposing in appearance, but seemingly of no real purpose. Even its name began to lose its place in the world, taking as many meanings as there were races that looked upon it. The Sirrai called it the "Seat of Power", the Hillgoblins "Magical Place", and the Ogres loosely but most accurately translated it to "Dark Home". You see, the wizards that had seen to its construction had moved back to their own lands upon its completion, abandoning it, allowing things to take residence in its great structures, dark things that could find home nowhere else. While the city below prospered, often on the wealth of adventurous souls trying to seek out the source of the strange lights and shadowy beings that were seen in and about the citadel above, Amarri-Tath remained abandoned. It wasn't until many years later when a pair of Sirrai WarWitches cleansed its halls and corridors that it began to become what it was intended to be - a meeting place, a gathering place, a place where beings of great power and of many races would come to hammer out negotiations and to seal pacts, to exchange information and to gain knowledge of things they could find nowhere else. A true and singular seat of magical power for the whole kingdom to look towards. In the decades that followed, scholars and wizards alike ventured far and wide, searching for knowledge and power that could be brought back to the citadel. It is said that most of the greatest treasures, artifacts, and relics from the lands and years before the Nightwars found a final resting place inside those walls. Unsurprisingly, with such a concentration of power in one place, it was among the first casualties of the Nightwars." The barman continues describing parts of the Great Kingdom from before the war.
