Description

Modeled and Rendered in LW. The same sci-fi set I have been working on forever, intended for use in a collaborative effort with Franky, billy-home, Obiwan, laughingnome and gps. This is the bridge of the "Argo", a navigation and exploration class star vessel, which I am building from the inside out. I have completed 6 of the 8 stations (with the science officer's station being the most recent addition, at back). I still have to model the weps station and the jafo chair. I'm trying to work out a sensible layout, paying particular attention to lines of sight. Minimal texture work has been done (and only because I suck big time at surface work). I can already see now that I need to create some custom luminosity maps for the screens. I have to model a lot of junk in between the two helm stations and I need to do the wide holo screen in front of the nav/surv stations. Aside from that, the shell of the bridge, including the ceiling mounted stuff, all viewports and access doors. I might do one of them tactical tabletops in the middle of the aisle, just behind the nav/surv stations. What do you think? As always your comments and suggestions are very much appreciated. Thank you very much for viewing. :o)

Looking better and better. I can't wait to see how the shell goes together. I'm having trouble imagining it. I can see how the whole thing is building up a nice cramped feel. I guess the shell will need to have lots of hideable wall and ceiling sections to give adequate camera access.

Kick Butt....... Your design has "classic Sci-Fi" feel to it. I can sympathise with "I suck at surface work". But, you make up for it in modeling detail. Frankly, some people use image maps as a crutch for poor modeling skills, IMHO. Do you have a clue yet as to what the outside of the ship is going to look like? Love to see it.
