Description
Not far from the group of young people I posted in my previous photo, I met these two yougsters going in the general direction of the group. Were they joining them? Am I biased or do they look a bit stoned? Anyway they seemed to have been together for a while, since they walked with the same rhythm, just swinging the same hands with their cigarettes.

They look urban more than anything, to me...and I suppose looking depressed is a part of the whole urban look. It's one of those universal things...either looking depressed, detached, or just so casually nonchalant that one wonders just how close the person is to slipping into a coma. I love the contrasts here as well, the brilliant colors, the detached, disaffected expressions, the casual ease, and though smoking is much maligned these days, it's actually an interesting thing to see as smoking also happens to be one of those truly old human customs that coincides with the development of a more sedentary lifestyle (as with alcohol, tobacco production requires that one stay put and not be so incredibly nomadic, unless tobacco just so happens to grow wild enough to simply pick.) What really grabs me is the stark fullness of the guy's features. He has an interesting face. As for stoned: well, they are at the right age for that, though they could easily be buzzed and close to an alcohol stupor. At any rate, it's an intriguing picture and a glimpse into what, at least for these two, is probably just everyday life, with lots of sartorial color. Brilliant.

Very interesting capture of these to Sandra.. Stoned.. quite possible, dead beats... more than likely, smoking.. such idiots obvious with all the smoking warnings and they still do they have to be.. It is interesting how the both have pretty much the same pose or walk.. Well done Sandra.
