Description
I was just reading the poems of Pablo Neruda and I chose this one to "celebrate" the arrival of summer, also because I remembered to get pictures of plums!
I hope to have translated sufficiently... otherwise, I apologize for the mistakes!
Have a splendid weekend! :)
Thanks for looking and for previous comments and fav!
Oh summer
abundant,
chariot
apples
mature,
mouth
strawberry
in the green,
lips
wild plum,
roads
of soft powder
above
the dust,
noon
drum
of copper red
and in evening
rests
the fire,
the breeze
does dancing
the clover,
enters
in the workshop deserted;
salt
a star
fresh
skyward
dark,
crackles
without burning
the night
of summer.
(Pablo Neruda)

How amazing! I love that poem and the fruit looks amazing. I have a plum tree like this in my garden but it is very old and doesn't really bare much fruit anymore!

Beautifully composed shot, with the prominent fruit and branches, and the framing leaves. The other fruit, that is not center stage, adds to the feeling of summer plenty. Beautiful colors and detail. Wonderful image and poem!

A brilliant depiction and presentation, particularly in essence and in tribute to a simple, but yet inspirational poetic piece. It seems to truly encapsulate what summer is all about in just a few short words. Such incredible texture and lighting! It's not often I see these plum trees, as I usually tend to see them already ripe and ready when in season at the store.... and can never just pass them! Yum! Wonderful presentation and welcoming to the long awaited summer solstice!

Beautifully captured Maria and mouth-watering because it reminds me of the plum covered kuchen my mother used to make. I just came back from Rio where it is winter, but perfect temperature wise (it is in the tropics) to Phoenix where the heat has arrived. 40 to 46C the last few days, somewhat warmer around my house. And that is in the shade. Not a cloud in the sky, but our 'monsoon', an increase in humidity, and a possible resulting thunderstorm has yet to arrive.
