Description

Looks like this little docent is not going to give her lecture tour tomorrow. I am reading "Relic" ATM, and this scene came to my mind's eye. Too bad I couldn't find a more classical looking museum, but this is awfully nice (really like how the reflections turned out--it's at Daz), but Sixus' creature is a fairly close approximation of what the monster might look like (minus all those extra eyes). I saw the movie on the telly several years ago. The Preston & Child book is so much better. The movie simply takes too many liberties with the story and mucked it up badly. I did read "Reliquary." Now that is some story :D. Haven't a clue why I have waited so long to read the first part. Hope all are well and enjoying the summer. Do hope you are not one of the unfortunates in the US experiencing all that horrid flooding. It's been a really tough year so far for so many folks. Pray that things ease up soon. Really just about too pooped to pop. Spent several hours cleaning my terrace, a task which I am not terribly fond of. Got to carry all those pails of water from my bath to the terrace--wish I could use a hose...So, when I feel a little more spunky, I will try to go through the gallery to see what's new and exciting from all you folks :) Well, that's it for now. Glad you were able to drop by. Hope you enjoyed your little visit.

I remember that film, there were too many loose ends in the story but the premise did have its appeal. Very nice job with the rendering. The monster is very menacing as it coldly stalks the alien tunnels for victims. Not food really, just victims to kill.

Fun image - instantly reminded me of the movie (even before I read your description). The movie was okay mostly because they shot it in the Field Museum in Chicago. That museum can be a little creepy in real life, particularly when you are alone in one of the long cool dark corridors with the animal dioramas and you have an overactive imagination.

It wasn't until I saw your picture that I remembered the movie (guess it was kind of forgettable). I'm glad you mentioned the book, I'll have to read it. I groaned when I read about your terrace and hauling water. I used to have a pot garden, no hose, what a lot of work! Excellent picture, you really captured the movie.
