I started using Ray Dream Studio and then switched over to Metacreations Carrara Version 1, about two years ago and have never looked back since. BIOI worked on a Pentium 2, 333mhz system with 64MB RAM, and showed a few people what could be achieved with an entry level 3D package.
I have since started a successful business doing industrial design that is now enabling me to fund my interactive multimedia design business. I am currently working on an educational multimedia program (Freddy Frog and friends) that I hope will make children enjoy the Computer learning experience. All the images that where sent in, where created in Carrara, and then some of them were touched up in Photoshop 5.
The backgrounds of the "world" designs were done with the help of a Kai's Power Tools plug in.
I strongly believe that anyone with a little creativity and ambition can achieve his or her highest goals, with the basic tools. You don't need much money to start a business in this industry!

Very kewl
Rockatansky
A simple yet striking image...beautifully done. (I'm not sure that I like the top of the planet poking in from the bottom of the picture as it draws the eye away from the rest of the image but the rest is great.)

Neat work...I like it! Have to agree with Rockatansky about the "planet" at the bottom of the picture. Striking image!

WOW! This should be a print...Amazing...

Wonderfull but I agree with Rockatansky.
Strodog1413
great image, and i disagree with those who thin the planet shouldn't be at the bottom, it gives needed balance, it wouldn't look right without it, am i right in thinking that the idea here is to draw your eye from the bottom up? if so, maybe the planet should even be a little bigger, i'm not sure though

From a compositional standpoint, I agree with Strodog, I think that the planet should be larger also. Maybe moved to the right a bit. When I first saw this image, I wasn't concerned with the composition. It's a beautiful piece of art. Nice work.

To all the "compositional critics"... This is a small crop of a larger image. I will post the entire image A.S.A.P. Thanks for the tips!
