My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

I can't remember the last time I read the email notifications of submissions. It's all too much work! I just go to the gallery and open the shots that I like the look of! Simple and effective!

Very cute shot.

What a wonderful shot; as far as the ebots go, this is supposed to be fun, not work, so take care of life first!

Oh man ... ebots can be a millstone around your neck! About three years ago I took a Renderosity break and turned off the bots for ALL my favorite artists. It was such a relief, I never turned 'em back on again! Now I browse the galleries in which I participate, viewing and commenting as I have time and as the spirit moves me. What gorgeous light! That low angle is so yummy. I can just feel how much energy this little guy has. Make way, or he'll run you down and lick you to death!

Life has priority although it doesn't hurt to have fun along the way Do what you must and then do the best you can

What a gorgeous and fun shot! I can just imagine that little ball of canine energy colliding with you, knocking you down, and then licking your face. Dogs are so good at that! What a gorgeous shot. Oh, and don't worry about the Renderosity notification bots. I've turned mine off, though a few zillion of them still get through. There's always so much to see and comment on, but the beauty of Renderosity is that you can always catch up later. The bottom line is just do what you can when you can and have as much fun as possible.

Love this little guy...is he a Jack Russell by any chance...if you know? I too turned off my ebots about 18 months ago. I am a bit hit and miss on my commenting but now I do what I can and enjoy every minute of it. Ebots stacking up was a real weight for me...and I couldn't keep up unless I sat at the computer 6-8 hours a day. That's not fun. That's hard work.

Just wonderful.

I think many feel the same way. It is a great site and deserving of more time than I can allocate. I often feel moved to write a lot but I have to force myself to be brief and move on, sort of like that little dog in your photo, chuffing along but the rails will never end, ha ha!

No problem with being late with the galleries - I'm late in this times too. I hope all went well for you, all my best wishes for you my friend. A great shot - I hope he reaches his goal.

Hope he isn't running after the train he missed, great shot!!!

Crazy about this shot Clive! You know what - I have stopped feeling guilty if I don't get to all the galleries! You do what you have to do and all will still be here when you have a chance! Good luck!
