Well, at least you got a nice photo out of it - though photos don't taste as good in salads as tomatoes. Those black & white markings look eerily like eyes staring at you. Great work...

Not that I feel happy about it, but I see, I am not the only one having creatures eating my plants :-) Hope you kindly moved him far away from your garden. Atleast you can do that. :D

Last time I found one of these on my Pepper plant, I took him on a journey to the other side of the yard. I figured if he made it back he could stay. Nice shot.

I love the "eyes" on this little biological eating machine! I'm always amazed that they require so much, but considering that they go through a radical metamorphosis after spinning a cocoon, no wonder they need such a food intake. This not-so-little one's gonna be busy soon...and I'm glad you captured this little marvel. Okay, it's a walking defoliant, but still, it is such a marvelous creature. I almost wish there was an adult life form somewhere that looked like a caterpillar. They're so cute in an alien sort of way. This is a great capture with fantastic details.

Excellent capture Kim. Is s/he still alive or did you end it all? :>) I would have at least put it out in the woods far away from your tomato plants. Dana
