Description

This year I tried some dahlias from seed called the "Bishops Children". They are from the old dark leaved favourite "Bishop of Llandaff". I lovr dark leaved plants so thought they should be worth a go. This is the first to flower of about 20 plants and sadly it looks just like the bishop himself. So while I await new colours to come forth from the other plants, I give you a close up of this likeness. A big shot for those who like to see up close and personal

A superb capture and the details look fantastic in zoom. I love this colour even though you were hoping for something different.

From seed, eh! You have the very greenest fingers of anyone I know. The Bishop is one of 4 of my Dahlias to have suffered in the hard winter, as I didn't lift any of them! He has one measly sprout, but will doubtless make an effort. I did however forget to take the cannas in and they are all gone after about 10 years. I bought one new one, and you sent me some, so allis not lost completely!

Wonderful macro Kevin. Well done. I would love to see the whole flower as well. You must have a beautiful garden. Good on you. Cheers Pam
