Description

This is the European Blackbird. Mum is feeding currants to one of her babies on my lawn yesterday morning, hence the dew. This was taken through the conservatory window. The odd feathers around are from a Starling which had been taken by a Sparrow Hawk. The blackbird is very common in the UK and is a prominent member of the dawn chorus in Spring and Summer with a beautiful warbling song. for comparison it is the same size as the American Robin. Have a good Saturday. Jeff.
