Hi there.
This little guy (and his about 1 Mio. *g* sisters and brothers) where swimming in a garden-pond on the area of the 2009 garden exhibition near my hometown. I like the slight-transparent look of his body and the colour the water looks like.

Never saw one quite this close up, I do remember trying to catch them as a child and trying to imagine them turning into frogs.

LOL same here, we were catching tadpoles when we were kids. We collected them inside a jar, my mom will put them on a bigger tank full of water and some weeds. When they start growing feet, she would release them back in the pond. Thanks for sharing the image. It brought back happy memories!
