Description

The Chronicles of Inthandonia: The Wizard Wars. Breakout "Perhaps there is such a thing as too much knowledge - but it is certainly true that ones greatest weakness is often ones greatest strength misapplied. The Skrellian AI was not programmed to understand human beings - and even less programmed to understand Wizards. Its physical and biological understanding of me was almost perfect right down to the genetic level. To gain such a depth of understanding the teeming nano machines in my body had to learn and understand life functions unique to an Inthandonian Human male. Only by doing so could the myriad thousands of biological processes be mapped and understood. The Skrell ship did not possess medical equipment compatible with Humans so its huge digital brain was forced to improvise. It carried out its assessment of my body by using engineering nanobots - each microscopic machine a quantum computer in its own right. But these nanobots were designed as repair units. Their onboard molecular factories and electrochemical manipulators were constructed to repair damage to the Skrell ships biocircuitry according to Skrell logic. This meant that the nanobots, as they mined my body for information, discovered many "defects" that needed "repairing". Human muscles were far too weak, the lungs far too inefficient at extracting and supplying oxygen, the blood too thin, bones too brittle and fragile. Following their primal programming the network of nanites and smart filaments inside me began, slowly but surely, to rebuild my battered body. Driven by their heuristic programs and the dictates of fuzzy logic the bio-network found itself at crossed purposes. To fulfil their functions the nanomachines had to secure their environment and strengthen it against any threat. Accordingly they began not just repairing my body but optimising it. I bided my time, slowly consolidating my foothold until I was finally able to re-enter my body and slip free of my physical restraints. I was still deep in the Skrell ship, surrounded by multiple unknown dangers but at last I was back in control of my self - and my now heavily augmented body. It was time to make a break. Trailing a retinue of small repair robots I stumbled, still bleeding, away from the testing lab".
