Description

This Poser 7 rendering is dedicated to Mike (aka. Faemike55 here at Renderosity) a very good and supportive friend as well as an inspiring photographer and Poser artist. I highly recommend his very witty rendering series chronicling the adventures of Fae Queen Zlata the Gentle. Mike's work teaches us that leadership is never easy even with absolute power that is unencumbered by a bickering Parliament. Enjoy. And have a great week.

Some Technical Details

For this rendering, lighting was accomplished with a single infinite 'Sun' light using ray traced shadows (blur radius 0.2 and bias 0.6) set to 72% intensity and a yellowish colour (RGB: 0.996, 0.960, 0.940). The sun light was complimented with a single diffuse IBL light set to 100% intensity, a yellowish colour (RGB: 1.000, 0.975, 0.970) while filtered using the lagoonShoreandSky.jpg IBL probe that comes with Poser 6. Diffuse lights normally do not apply shadows on their own by default and none were applied in this case. For most textures, my AO (Ambient Occlusion) nodes are set to 4 samples, 50in max. distance and 0.1in ray bias. However, to make skin a little more radiant, I reduced the impacts of shadows by lowering the AO max. distance to 20in. Of coarse, if you wish to soften shadows or brighten fabrics, raising the ray bias to 0.5in also works well. Finally, there are the Render Settings under Poser's Render menu. I use the Advanced settings panel as it provides greater controls. Raytrace bounce: 2 Irradiance caching: 90 Pixel samples: 4 Min. shading rate: 0.40 Post filter size: 2 Post filter type: sinc HDRI optimized output is set. No gamma correction
