UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Looks ok to me Bill. It looks a nice period picture.

When I saw the thumb I was quite attracted to it, and wondered who had done such a lovely and different piece! When I saw it was you, you could have knocked me over with a feather. Such a departure! I like this very much. The composition is just right, and the light is really nice. (Not sure about the heavy texture, but that's just "imho.") Really good work!

A lovely composition, Bill! It definitely has that 18th century look and feel to it - way to go! Sheesh - it's been years since I've been to the Nelson... I really must take a day and go explore again.

Interesting with the old photo texture filter. As for the furniture, it's worth noting the taste of the time - a few pieces of very fine furniture with lots of space around so each piece can be appreciated for itself. Also, much socializing at the time was standing up and mingling in the salons. Our modern age has more material wealth, but crowds it together. We also are more a sitting-down culture today. Look at the French salons between 1600 and 1870. There's a sparcity of furniture, the focus being on being social and mixing (no furniture is "in the way" of movement). So, your photo actually catches the spirit of the period very well! :-)

Excellent work, Bill; I'm guessing the larger clothing styles of the times had a lot to do with necessary space around things!

Fantastic postwork

Nice image, although I too think the texture takes away from it just a bit. I'd love to see the clock more clearly. But experimenting is always a good thing! : )
