Last week-end I told you about the Spanish Riding School of Vienna and here is my upload. This school is known for the use of white Lipizzans horses. These majestic creatures are trained for performing "courbettes", "cabrioles" or "levades" which are stunning and difficult exercices for horses. This training begins at the age of four and lasts ten years. Of course, this school has a lot of traditions and there is a hierarchy in the riders team : the "Oberbereiter" is the main rider in charge of the team and the horses. Their Lipizzans horses is a very old breed that exists since 400 years. At the origin, the breed was created with spanish horses (thus the name of the School). This breed whas created by the Habsbourg, the austrian royal family, in the the stud farm of Lipicca which gives the name of the breed. When they are young, these horses have a beautiful grey color that fades with the years in becoming white. Thanks for your kind comments on my last upload and your support.
