I suppose I should change my bio from 'new member' since I wrote this section five years ago.
Can you spot the six things I love in this photo? For extra credit, list in them order of kickassedness.
P.S... One of the things is NOT a ridiculous mustache. It only looks like I have one. BIOHi, I'm Steve. I just deleted almost all of my gallery. A lot of fantasy stuff, 2D, Poser and stuff. If you're a returning to my gallery because you had favortited me at some point you won't recognize anything here.
I'm at a different place now, the old gallery just wasn't reflecting me so much anymore. I just picked up a camera while on leave in the states so now my gallery is a novice photographer. Wish me luck and constructive criticism is not only welcomed but encouraged. They don't exactly offer photography classes in Afghanistan so everything posted here within the next couple of months or so is going to be shots I took during my first two weeks with a camera.
And sometimes I write, too, so if you want to hear any of my big fat opinions you can check out my Artist Input section. Which usually don't have anything at all to do with art.

You took 3000 photos in 2 weeks without learning how autofocus works!!!!!!! That's priceless!!!!! Seriously though, you have composed this very well. I hope she got lots of tips cos she would have needed it with the price of coffee in Starbucks!

yep, about 3,000. I sort of figured how autofocus works. My problem was getting it not to work at all the wrong times. Like, autofocusing on the chain link fence separating me and the eagle in flight at the zoo. Anyway, those two weeks were just my introduction. There's always a photography class and more trips and otehr things to shoot when I get back. I'm spending entirely too much time thinking about all the stuff I can do in East Texas and an upcoming trip to a friends wedding in the Virgin Islands. Where, I guess the focus (no pun intended) should be the nuptials and not the Nikon. But since I'm paying my own way down there to be the best man, I'm gonna focus on what I want. As always, consturctive criticism not only welcomed but encouraged.

VERY NICE COMPOSITION. GOOD CHOICE OF CAMERA. REMEMBER, GREAT CREATIVITY IS ALWAYS MORE IMPORTANT THAN A GREAT CAMERA! SHOOT WITH YOUR FEELINGS, THE DETAILS WILL COME LATER. BY THE WAY, JUDGING BY YOUR PHOTO, YOU COULD USE A CIRCULAR POLARIZER -- GET ONE! (IT WILL ALSO HELP PROTECT YOUR LENS.) KUDOS FOR YOUR SERVICE!
