I recently retired, and finally have the time to really learn about CGI. Â It's a steep learning curve, but a fascinating one. Â I'm working with Daz, Poser and Blender mostly.
As an amateur singer/songwriter who writes mostly story songs, one of my goals is ultimately to produce animated videos acting out, or enhancing, the story lines of some of them.
I'm a long way from that, but working towards it.
To start, I am writing stories illustrated with Nursoda's characters (I've fallen head over heels in love with them) to present as a collection of PDFs, perhaps as ebooks. Â My inspiration is the work of the great illustrators of my childhood (Norman Rockwell, Howard Pyle, etc.). Â Each picture should have an overall story, and every place, character and, sometimes, prop in the picture should have its own backstory as well.
I've also created a blog on free and low-cost digital tools for creating visual art, annimation, books and music. Oddly enough it is called
makeartwordsmusic.com
In addition, I am close to publishing my first illustrated short story on Amazon. I'm ultimately writing a series of stand-alone, but related stories. Rather than wait until tey are all finished, I am releaseing them one at a time, with the compilation to come later.
Stay tuned!

This was an experiment. Setup in Poser, it was rendered in the free Luxrender engine (luxrender.net) using the free Pose2Lux linking plugin (pose2lux.com). The only light in the scene is a standard Poser point light scaled down to 10% and placed on the candle wick. It looked OK after about 600 samples per pixel, but to get this level of detail I let it run to 3,000 samples per pixel.

If anyone can find the answer, Hein can! Excellent use of light in this scene. Low light level scenes are so hard to do, but you nailed this one. Bravo!
