Description

You ever have your kids bring home a dog and say can we keep him? Raven was that Dog to me. I saw he was a Rotty, he was still a puppy with big paws... I went through the questioning where'd ya find him... I tried different approaches to get rid of the dog - lol... there were 3 dogs I never wanted to have - 1. a pit bull, 2. a doberman pincher and 3. the Rotty... my kids and X talked me into keeping him... and I'm glad they did... what a life Raven had. After I went through the divorce, the X got in trouble for Raven being out of the yard 3 times, 1st was a $100 fine, 2nd was a $300 fine and the 3rd - $1,000 or get rid of the dog... so, Raven went up to the Mountains to live with my sister on a fenced 7 achre property. Raven had it made up there you would think, by my Sister had horses and Raven got too close one day and had half his teeth kicked out of his mouth. He was taken to the vet and nursed back to health Later, my oldest son (who was the rightful owner of the dog) came to live with me and my New Wife back in 2003... Aaron (My Son) asked to have Raven back, We got him and then my Son moved out - lol... I had Raven again, a Dog I loved that I never wanted but was the gentelest giant of a dog you'd ever know. In 2007 I lost my job, I lost my home... My Wife and I went up to the Cabin and Raven stayed with us durring those 4.5 months. When we were done working on the Cabin and it was time to go back to the City, my Brother in Law who had him before took him in and said he was his dog and no one else can get him back... I found out on Facebook Raven had passed away in June of 2011. It was sad... but then I was overwhelmed with happiness because I learned Raven had puppies and my Brother in law kept two of them. the picture of Raven was taken in the summer of 2007.... the smaller picture is of his Grave and puppys whome I still haven't met or know their names.

This reminds me the story of my grandfather's dog, a puppie he found in a box in the street and save. This dog, Reap, was a very clever one and all the family loved him. We were very sad when Reap died... Raven was a beautiful dog !!

kind_schreiben164.gif Even Roddy's can be spoiled ones, my daugher had also such a big Snoop, he lives now with her older friend and is still happy when she show's up to say "Hello Snoop" (... and her was so deeply in love with our Biggi, when she was still a puppy)!!!

Awww, you made me cry. Great story. My sister had a Rott and I think it was her favorite of all the dogs she had ever had. Like her baby or kid. We were taking care of someone elses too a few years ago. He would smile at us, lol. He was such a good dog, they had named him Butch. He hated motorcycles though, lol. He passed about a year and half ago. Was getting old, had arthritis. Thanks for making me cry (jk) I still have tears streaming down my face. But really it was a wonderful story, thanks.

COOL Mike! I have always liked the look of Mastiffs. I've heard there temperament can be iffy. I believe it has a lot to do with their up-bringing. I prefer the larger dogs like these. They seem to be less nippy and yappy. Glad this dog was a good one and had a nice life.

don't judge by breed. A poodle can be the worst. It all depends on how you teach them, raise them and keep them social. Any dog can be good, or bad. There are no bad pets, just bad pet owners. This rotty looks great. He was loved and gave love everywhere he went.

I LOVE it Mike, we all have the chance to give an animal all the love they deserve (I have 3 rescued cats at the moment) - this is good to see and hear. Sounds like you have had an eventful life so far too!

THIS WAS FROM PIXELUNA/JENNY This is quite a touching story, Mike. It brought me some tears and some runny nose too. No kidding. Fantastic work as always! I am sorry that I just fav with no comment, I am really having problems with Rendo connection being slow, it takes forever to wait for the next page to load. FROM ME... I think we are all experiencing renderosity's "LONG" wait time after submitting a comment - it is frustraiting... I felt Jenny's comment should be here, so I posted this from the fave.
