Froggy said I needed to whip up a story for my little impromptu series here with the young friends. So, here goes: Larrs and Lance had grown up together, having lived on adjoining farms in the upper midwest. As such, they were the best of friends! Growing up, they had lots of opportunities to develop their imaginations. One of the things they liked best was scary movies and never missed an opportunity to see vampire and monster movies and afterward trying to see who could scare the other one out of his wits. After attending a couple years of college together, they decided for their summer vacation, they wanted to tour parts of Europe! They worked hard at their part-time jobs during the school year and saved enough money to pay for most of the trip, hoping that they could find some odd jobs along the way while in Europe to help defray some of their expenses. Their first stop was Ireland, where they spent about a week touring the lovely green countryside, seein the sites, visitin with the locals and of course, tippin a few pints at the local pubs. They made many fine new friends and acquaintances and really enjoyed the Irish hospitality! Popping over to England, they realized that their money was slipping away a faster than they had anticipated, so they left sooner than they had planned. Once on the continent, they really started pinching their pennys in an effort to stretch out their finance. They hoped to find some kind of work to replenish their dwindling funds. They did manage to get a couple odd jobs here and their in their explorations and got enough money to rent a car for a few days at one of the more thrifty rental agencies. Of course, this transportation wasn't always as dependable as the more reputable establishments. The boys had travelled through France, Germany, Austria and were driving though Hungary. They had set a goal of getting to Romania and touring Dracula's Castle and, perhaps, try and scare the hell out of each other, if possible. But their rental vehicle had other ideas. They took a wrong turn at one of the busier intersections and wound up traveling down a very dark, desolate and completely abandoned trail. It wound through a very ancient looking forest. The moon was coming up and the fog started rolling in. Soon, visibility became very limited. The trail grew steadily worse. Larrs told Lance, 'Perhaps we should turn around and get back on the main road?' Lance was just about to, when they hit a mud puddle, which splashed water up onto the engine and caused it to sputter and die. Lance repeatedly tried starting the car, but to no avail. He wore the battery down to nothing. Now, they didn't even have headlights. But no! Not to despair. It looked like there was a bright light up ahead a little ways. Perhaps they could walk there and find some help. They got out of the car and started walking along the old trail. They hadn't gone very far when Lance said to Larrs, 'Did you hear something?' 'Oh, that was just me. I stepped on a twig!' 'No, Larrs, I think it was something else!' 'Oh come on Lance! I know you! You are just trying to scare me, like always!'
