Description

Found this great battle walker at DAZ so just had to have it and use it a lot. My German is non existent and I have not got round to checking what Der Sturmspinne actually means yet. Here's the story that goes with the picture. In a forgotten warehouse on the edge of Berlin at the end of World War 2 the super weapons that could have been lay abandoned. What would this futuristic battle walker have looked like if it had ever made it into the real world? Tune in this week to find out.

Sturm - storm; Spinne - spider. I wouldn't think it would last long - just knock out a couple of legs! Great model, though; nice work.

Just FYI: I would translate it as "Stormspider", too. With storm as in "storming a fort" or "storm trooper", not as in blizzard. In German spiders are referred to as females, so the title should be "Die Sturmspinne" end of nitpicking ;) And I consent with Sunbeam: It wouldn't last long in the plains. In the mountains, on the other hand ...

It is pure fantasy, the Wehrmacht never built that.

Ooooo! can't wait to see what you do with this! Interesting concept. On the question of durabality..'just knock out a couple of legs', might not be so easy, those leg joints have to be a minimum 200mm thick. On the question of reality @'N8Dreams' perhaps the gallery 'science 'FICTION' is a clue.Though it's the sort of thing they probably would have got round to, given time... Great post Phil, the setting is top notch too....
