Putting a human and/or animal figure into the image always provides a fertile ground for the viewer, using their imagination, to place themselves into the scene, and also using this to be able to gauge the scale of the landscape. I like this image, firstly for its feeling of solitariness (being in the middle of nowhere), also for the over-hanging menacing ceiling, and for the structures in the background that, to me, vaguely resemble the yellow mountains of China.
