Description
Thought I would try something different this time than loading V4 and going to work, so i thought id try to model something organic from scratch, which ive never done. The modelling itself took about 6 hours, another hour to uv map and texture, and a few hours trying to get it look somewhat decent in Max.
Its far from perfect but as the finished result in something i wasnt even sure i could pull off im happy.
By all means constructively criticize all you want, any modelling/texturing tips would be great!
Thanks, Dave.

This is a pretty cool start but I would really work on your topology. The way it is at the moment will only cause you trouble later down the line. Try and space your poly's evenly, this will reduce the pinching you are getting in your sculpt. Also, check your edge loops too as this is probably going to cause you problem areas later on too. Good luck with it ;)

Good start. We all have to begin somewhere. I would suggest Googling "Face Topology." You'll get a lot of helpful images just by doing that. http://wiki.polycount.com/CategoryTopology#Category_Topology Go here and under "Pages in This Category" there are a lot of good examples as well, some are even professional quality models done for video games. There is one on the faces page by a user named "Bunk" that breaks down the modeling with some pretty good color coded regions to show you good placement of your edge loops. This mini tutorial helped me a lot early on. I got rather tired of dumping Victoria into a scene and clicking render. I made my own low poly base mesh for sculpting. I posted it over on ZBrush Central if you want to download it. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showpost.php?p=762845&postcount=158 Hope this helps you on your way. Keep up the sculpting.
