Another image from the archives!
I have captured this fellow in the Kruger National Park in South Africa a couple of years ago. I remember vividly that we saw him just after entering the park and he was very close to the road. I also have a very neat image of his bum!!

My two favorite exotic animals are not one of the big Cats, or the giraffes, or elephants (although they would be in my top 5), but the hippo and the rhino fill those 2 top spots. And this is what I would think of when thinking about a spectacular rhino shot. How exciting this must have been. BTW, this is a much better angle than a photo of it's bee-hind. :-)

Lovely. I love visiting these guys in our open planes zoo. They take you out in a 4WD and these guys come right up to the window. Thats when it occurs to me that if he wanted to, he could destroy me and the car in about 2 seconds!!!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful creature.

What a magnificent beast! Sterling clarity, lighting and texture effects in this splendid composition, Carin. Unknown to most people is that the fingernails and toenails of humans consist of the same material as the horns of a rhino. So, despite the apparent lack of resemblance, we are related in a certain way.
