Description

This is a Beech tree planted in memory of my Dad, who died a year ago, this is where i took yesterdays picture from. As i have said in the past, these downs in West Wiltshire are where my Dad used to come with my Grandfather in his job as a shepherd and remained his favourite place in all the world. After many months of setbacks, my brother and i have finally managed to get a local stonemason to prepare a block of local Chilmark stone, (from which Salisbury Cathedral was built, sixteen miles away)into a beautiful memorial tablet which will be put in place very shortly and so complete the journey of a much loved man namely Arthur Williams who we were fortunate enough to be able to call Dad.

Beech trees are beautiful and this one is in a lovely and special spot. What a wonderful tribute to your dad along with the memorial tablet of local stone. I hope the tree lives a long life and adds to the beauty of the land your dad loved so much, for many years to come. Beautiful capture of this lovely young tree and view.

What a magnificent setting! A wonderful loving tribute to your dad. Mine has been gone over four years now but I draw strength from the lessons he taught me and the humor he passed down.

a tree and a stone tablet is, i think, a perfect and fitting way to mark any man's life, but especially the sort of man you've described your father as. the land and view are spectacular.
