Description

A Canary Island Lizard (Gallotia galloti galloti) with the cauldron of the volcano Teide. The volcano and its surroundings comprise the Teide National Park (Parque Nacional del Teide in Spanish). I dedicate this image to Ute, Renè and all the other friends who sometimes feel the environment in RR a bit arid. Yet, this place is much friendlier than it may appear at first. BTW, I disabled the rating because I'm too snobbish to put up with a charting system... ;D Thank you for your kind comments.

Great camouflage on that lizard. May I make a suggestion? When I zoomed in, I could tell you had really sharpened the image a lot because There was a halo around the mountains where they meet the sky. The way I avoid that is- I make a separate copy layer and do my sharpening on that. Then you can mask it and paint the sharpness in where you want it OR you can erase the sharpness from the sky and the edge of the mountains so you won't have the halo and the sky will be smoother...just a suggestion. Then you can flatten the image and all will be well. If you don't have software that can do that, then just forget what I said.

Wow, that lizard is well hidden! Wonderful contrast between the arid landscape and the brilliant blue sky. You can disable the ratings but you cannot stop us from admiring your work. (as Rene would say - muahahahaha!) {;D

Amazing! It took me a moment to find the lizard and the only reason I found it at all was because I spent a nice amount of time zoomed in full to enjoy this shot. WOW! There's so much to see and I love the nicely otherworldly colors. Well, not too otherworldly, but definitely not Chicago. YOu did an amazing job with the scale of this place, and yeah, I found the lizard and I have to say, what a handsome lizard! Very nice!
