Description

Newly rendered at a higher resolution, and composited onto a revitalized matte painting. More advanced use of lighting techniques within Poser Pro and hours spent in Photoshop to clean up Poser's inability to compensate for areas of a model not facing a light source and not throwing or receiving shadows. I implemented some newly imagined techniques to mimic the real world effects of scattering light that causes surfaces to become indirect light sources called radiosity. I also faked some interesting depth of field, motion blur and lens flare effects to give the image more depth and give it the hot and dirty Saving Private Ryan look I had originally been shooting for. Basically, as I improved with Photoshop I decided to come back to this image, one of the first of my own images I had used Photoshop to enhance (and the first to be uploaded at Renderosity), and make it even better. Please compare this image to the original at http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=104885&Start=13&Artist=evermail&ByArtist=Yes and let me know what you think.

i think this image now has almost the look-and-feel of a still from a professionally produced CGI-based feature film. it's a pretty render. and the post-work is quite wonderful - the lighting is quite effective.
