This is a bit of an update. From humble beginnings my photography is steadily improving.I started out with a Kodak point and shoot camera and progressed to a Sony A-200 Digital SLR camera.Other equipment that i currently have is the following: Tamron 70-300mm lens. WOW! Since I was a child, the Ibis was one of my favorite birds. In ancient Egypt, they were believed to be the embodiment of the god Thoth. Usually he looked like an ibis, but mostly he looked like a human with the head of an ibis, and if he was in a particularly "different" mood, he was a baboon holding the moon, a paint brush and a little thing of ink...go figure. The ancient Egyptians had some interesting ideas. But anyway, since he was also venerated as the god of writing, I figure, in mythology, somebody's gotta have that job, and since I'm a writer who likes ibises, then it's totally logical that an ibis would have that job...and all of this is to say that I really like this photo. I've only ever seen the white ibis and not the scarlet beauty that you captured here. I love that beak. This is marvelous!
